The pieces I have included are a part of a recent series of works that I have entitled, “Imply.” The purpose of these works is to utilize two-dimensional renderings and applications in order to tackle multi-dimensional issues. The pieces are intended to be conversational and uncomfortable asking the viewer to see himself or herself in a situation in which the phrases used are applicable to themselves. The figures are intentionally nude in order to highlight the vulnerability of human beings and their interactions in the currently controversial socio and political environment of consent-culture. The figures on each piece are separated from the background of the work to achieve a distance from the subject and the conversation. Are the words being directed at the subject or is the subject asking them to the viewer? The incorporation of our own assumptions allows the viewer to infer their own implications of each piece.
